Your privacy is important to us at Caption Pro Ltd (“Caption Pro”). When referring to the Caption Pro Services we mean the website, software and any services or features offered by Caption Pro and this privacy policy applies to all information collected through these channels.

Personal data is any information about you that enables you to be identified. Personal data covers obvious information such as your name and contact details, but it also covers less obvious information such as identification numbers, electronic location data, and other online identifiers.

What data do we collect and how do we use it?

Depending on whether you use our website or use our software we may collect various forms of data from you.

When you use our software we collect information that enables you to set up an account, such as name, email address, telephone number and encrypted password. We also collect information such as IP address when using our software as well as your operating system information. We also collect information in relation to how you use our software in order to help improve our services, this may include: time spent using the software, numbers of images processed and we also store some of these images as a reference when adding faces to your personal database. This user content will only be shared with our service providers for the purpose of fulfilling the service to you, for instance for facial recognition processing or for storing in your local, team or agency database, and be visually presented only to yourself or other shared database members as stipulated in terms of your subscription.  

We do not store the biometric information saved for facial recognition purposes, this gets handled by a third party service provider and they communicate the relevant information back to us.

We provide personal data to service providers who provide services on our behalf. This includes cloud storage providers and SaaS providers. If any of your personal data is required by a third party, we will take steps to ensure that your personal data is handled safely, securely, and in accordance with your rights, our obligations, and the third party’s obligations under the law. We will keep the data for as long as is necessary to maintain a full service to you and our other users or until it has been requested to be removed by the data subject or provider.

If an image of you is uploaded by one of our users, your facial information may be sent to our service provider and securely processed, but we do not store this information ourselves. We do however save information such as the user-given name associated with the face. If you wish to have this information of yourself removed from our current user base, or from a particular user’s database, or for the data of you to be deleted from the servers of our facial recognition processing providers, please contact us using the details provided.

If your identity is being provided in the ‘Celebrity Database’ and you wish to have this information removed, please get in contact with us via the email address provided at the bottom of this page so that we may process this request for you.

If you are using our website then we may collect certain data. Should you choose to find out more information about the software or register your interest on our site through a form or via our chat service, this will be used to communicate with you or to fulfil, improve or facilitate the requested service.

Any and all payment information you provide is securely handled by our payment provider ‘Stripe’. More information about how they handle your data can be found in their privacy policy.

Cookies only uses cookies that are essential to the functionality of the website. Tracking and advertising cookies are not used.

What Are My Rights?

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, individuals have certain rights with regards to the use of their personal data. You have the right to rectify, restrict, remove or object to your data being used. If you are based in the European Union, you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your Member State. For example, if you reside in the UK, you can file a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”).

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children and if we learn that we have collected such information, we will take the necessary steps to delete it as soon as possible.


We may update this privacy policy in the future when making changes to our products or services or as laws or technology changes. The current revision date should be visible at the top of the Privacy Policy. We may need to contact you to inform you of changes to our privacy policy or you may be notified on the website or through a notification in the software.
